ANCHOR: And humanoid robots hit the wrestling ring for a cyborg-battle in a fighting robot competition. STORY: One by one the competitors walk into the Korakuen stadium hall in Tokyo, their entrance announced by an MC to thunderous applause. But these contenders are all diminutive humanoid robots built and controlled by amateurs in the twice a year Robo-One Championships. [Terukazu Nishimura, Robo-one Committee Chairman]: "Japanese children have all been brought up watching animations and there is a lot of interest in robot battles. So this Robo-one competition is all about making this a reality." Kicking off the final matches in the feather-weight division, 'Automo03-Sandan' a metallic bipedal robot wearing karate gear, is no match for 'Leghorn' a robot in the shape of a chicken and famed for its vicious 'Chicken chop' martial art moves. In a wing-beat 'Leghorn' pushes its opponent down for the third time and progresses to the next round. 112 humanoid robots entered the two day competitions. By the final day, 45 remained standing and divided between the heavy-weights over 6.6 pounds and feather-weights under 6.6 pounds. In the light-weight division South Korean robot Teakwon-V smashed his opponents with a quick jab to the delight of its maker Jeon Young Sun, who took home the $10000 US division prize. [Jeon Young Sun, Fighting Robot Owner]: "It is a good chance to see Japan's advanced robot technology. Some people say that South Korea's technology is unsatisfactory, but ...

ANCHOR: Robot designers gathered at Robo_Japan 2008 in Yokohama, Japan to showcase their latest developments. NTD's Yukichi Negishi brings us there. STORY: Within the last decade, cell phones and computers have become a part of modern life. In the near future, we might see robots not only in assembly lines but just as much a part of our daily life as cell phones, cars, and computers. Tomotaka Takahashi, award winning robot creator, hopes to see robots in our life not just for convenience but also as our friends. [Tomotaka Takahashi, Robot Creator]: Robots are going to be in your home and your family member pretty soon. We tend to think about the practicality or usage robots, but we never think that way (about) your family or your boyfriend or girlfriend. Please treat them as your friend. Current robot designs mostly resemble male qualities like stiff movement and dont have many feminine qualities. Creating feminine robots is one of next steps to making robots a part of our daily life. [Tomotaka Takahashi, Robot Creator]: I think first of all there is no female type robot because there are technical problems. The first one is its harder to put all the parts inside the body. I [have to] use smaller parts and also design. Second one is that most of researcher in the robotics field is male, so we dont know how to realize female type robots. You know, it has nothing to do with wear skirts or having longer hair. Tomotakas mini climbing robot helped the electronics company ...

Title sequence and intro for a 1/10th scale micro radio control championship for paper fighting robots, based on 8 real robots from Robot Wars. Search 147JaC for some newer series. Ten videos make up this series (series one). The paper robots are modelled on Chaos 2, Lightning, Pussycat, Tornado, Steel Avenger, 13 Black, Panic Attack and Hypnodisc, all of which were on the proper series. The paper models are stuck on to small micro radio control cars. The arena is 1.2m square and made from wood, with a working flipper and pit. A few special effects added such as computer generated smoke, flames and sparks, and the result is fun. See Part 10 for 'The Making Of'. Music made using EJay software. Made by Laurie Calvert (of real team Lightning) and sons Laurie Jnr and Jon. This was their idea. This got voted best introduction in the FMRW awards 2009 organised by Masterath. www.calvertfilm.fsnet.co.uk for info on the real heavyweight Lightning. www.monstersmovie.com for my computer generated feature film.

Video I recorded awhile ago but was to lazy to split. Now i splitted it. yay me. Robot general is not a human but an ai from a super computer mainframe that is located in 4 different computers around the world. It only needs one computer to run so its impossible almost to defeat the general other then taking it on head on. it rarley uses humans to fight and most of its force is robots. Due to a bug though that you will see in the video, i am thinknig of not making it required to use the robot tower to use the units since all it takes is one time to lose power and the units become useless for the rest of the game... also note due to the mod not being finished, the cyborg general still has stuff it wont have in final installment.

Twitter.com - Follow Us! Bad Robot finally makes an actual robot movie. We have the details coming up next. Hi everyone, welcome back to Clevver Movies. I'm your host, Amanda Janner. It has always seemed a little odd that a production company called Bad Robot never made any movies that actually involved robots. We've overlooked that flaw until now, but it looks like we no longer have to. JJ Abrams and company are fixing that strange oversight with Boilerplate. Boilerplate is about an early "steampunk" robot. Steampunk is the sub-genre of science fiction set in an era where steam power is still widely used, featuring futuristic technology as people of the era would have envisioned it to be. The robot in Boilerplate just so happens to be set in the Victorian Age. The robot fights with both Teddy Roosevelt and Lawrence of Arabia, starts a career in the movies, and even disappears during World War One. The story is based on the graphic novel "Boilerplate: History's Mechanical Marvel." The tale first surfaced on the Web eleven years ago, but the novel was only published last year. We're glad JJ Abrams and crew decided to take the Bad Robot name seriously, but we're not quite sure what to expect from this one. Science fiction filmmaking is unusual by its sheer nature, and steampunk work even more so. With that in mind, we want to hear from you in the comments section below. Stay with us on Clevver movies for all the latest movie trailers and movie news. We'll see you next time.
